Aivery Yrevia of the Kektarr Line
Introduction
Aivery is the neice to the old Queen of Yertrya, and the older sister to the new Queen, Triishe. She's an ex-spy forced into an early retirement who's struggling to find what she desires to do with her life now that she's out of a job. She doesn't struggle for money, for friends, for looks, so what is it she desires?
While starting this next portion of her life, Aivery met Ichika, and something clicked. Homosexuality among Yerterians is almost unheard of, but the connection between them was undeniable. Now that Aivery has her lovely wife by her side, she's almost completely happy in life, but sometimes it still seems like something is missing, like she could be doing more.

Ichika - Girlfriend/Wife
Juniper - Close Friend
Sil - Close Friend
Raven - Tasked with keeping her (stage 3) from killing people (see Raven’s profile).

Personality
Personality: Quiet, collected, protective, proper
Likes: Being alone, purple, her daggers
Dislikes: Loud people and spaces, not knowing what’s happening
Aivery doesn't talk very much, especially around strangers, and she likes to pretend like she has very reserved opinions and doesn't jump to conclusions, but those close to her know just how much of an opinion she can have on people and their actions. She's a gentle warrior, but her glory days are behind her and she's happy to spend the rest of her days in relaxation.
Backstory
Aivery was born on Yertrya to a Yerterian princess. The Princess was the middle child and not the heir. Aivery had a brother much older than her named Variik, who was already with his mate Odiiliie by the time Aivery was born. When aivery was 3, her family was moved to the nearby planet of Xelia, where her younger brother Rhun was born not long after. They lived happily on Xelia for a few years as Aivery’s father governed it and tried to rid it of the native Fehler, large man-eating creatures that resembled and behaved like large, hive-minded insects (Think Starship Troopers). Unbeknownst to his family, Aivery’s father was having an affair with his wife’s younger sister, who had been staying with them on Xelia for some time. When Aivery was 11, tragedy struck and Variik and Odiiliie were killed by Fehler while traveling to the neighboring colony. This upset Aivery greatly, as she and Variik had been very close. The only person to survive the attack was Aivery’s aunt (the one who had been having an affair with her father). A few days later, Aivery’s mother suddenly became very sick and died. The mission to colonize Xelia was abandoned and Aivery and her family swiftly moved back to Yertrya, where her father retired and married Aivery’s Aunt only a month after his first wife had died. 10 months later, Aivery’s new step-mom had Triishe (for reference, Yerterian pregnancies are usually a whole year.) Aivery had emotionally withdrawn from her family, and they didn’t seem to notice when she wasn’t there. As soon as Aivery was 12, she enrolled in boarding school, as was usual for Yerterian children (They’re usually full grown between 13 and 16 years, so certain education programs are sooner than we usually have them). However, instead of enrolling in military school (which was the norm. Yerterians usually spend the first half of their 200 year long life in the military), Aivery enrolled in an academy training spys. She graduated top of her class when she was 17, but her family, especially her step-mother, still judged her for choosing a life of espionage over infantry service. The summer that Aivery was home from school was also the last summer that Rhun would spend at home before leaving for military school. During this summer, Triishe, who was 6 at the time, fell off of a cliff and was proclaimed dead. This incident further drove Aivery away from her family, as she felt guilt for not being able to save her sister. She worked as a spy for many years with minimal contact with her family other than Rhun, who she talked to sparingly, and her Aunt Adry, the Queen. After a mission, Aivery’s cover was blown and she was forced into an early retirement from her career in espionage. She moved back to Yertrya at 27, but her parents never reached out to make contact with her so she stayed with her Aunt. A few months later Rhun, who had been captured by Xathosian (enemy) forces, was found on an outer rim planet with a group of other refugees. A little ways into his return, the Queen and her three sons became deathly ill with a variant of the Breakskin plague (the same that killed Ara’s mother, they had found her ancient corpse floating in another cryopod, but the infection still managed to spread from it.). Aivery then left Yertrya with her brother and his friends to head to the nearby planet of Aedlaris in order to find a viable heir to the throne since Aivery unable to take it due to her previous career choices and Rhun was unable to take it due to his dishonor. (See Triishe’s story for more information)
Magic and Mortality
Aivery is immortal, meaning that if she were to be killed she would remain dead for a while before her body heals itself and revives. The length of time still dead is determined by the strength of emotion felt while dying. More emotion = less time to revive. If enough emotion is present, then Aivery will remain alive as her body regenerates. She still feels pain and the pain of death, but her soul never makes its way to the afterlife. Canonically, Aivery has yet to die, and therefore has yet to figure out she’s immortal.
Aivery, Rhun, and Triishe are godlings (one of their genetic contributors is a god) and share an immortal parent on their father’s side. He was possessed by the Nerakite god of Death, leading to their father’s split personality and chaotic mood swings. From this, Aivery inherited some flesh magic as well as some mental instability. While she isn’t as insane as Rhun and certainly not Triishe, she’s still not mentally well. She’s very good at hiding it, though.
Flesh magic allows for the manipulation of anything flesh-oriented, such as blood, bone, hair, and meat, but the cost is your sanity. The more magic you use, the more insane you become. In turn, the more insane or violent you’re acting, the more powerful your magic will be. More powerful emotion = more powerful magic.
Aivery does not yet canonically know she has this magic, but once she does it’s not nearly as strong as Triishe as it is powered by insanity. Aivery won’t use it much, preferring to rely on her own skill with blades to deal with problems.
Non-Posted Character Companions
Aivery was (somewhat forced too) take custody over her infant half-sister after her step-mother was committed to a mental institute and her siblings and father were deemed unfit to raise the child for similar reasons. I don’t yet have a name for Aivery’s little sister, but I know that she has hair the same color as Triishe’s, but eyes the same color as Aivery’s.
Aivery’s Brother Variik, he looked like Aivery but had brown hair. They were very close before he died. Aivery’s brother’s Fiancee, Odiiliie. I think she’s a more platinum blond with pale blue eyes, but her design is open. I’ve also toyed with the idea of having her have darker skin and hair, but keeping the pale blue eyes (All Yerterians have unnaturally light/glowing eyes, see Interesting features section.) so that would be cool to see. Aivery’s mother. She had brown hair with similar purple eyes to Aivery.
Aivery’s father. He’s blond with mint green eyes, and looks very similar to Rhun but with longer hair that he ties back.
Aivery’s Aunt Adry. The former Yerterian Queen before Triishe. Looks similar to Aivery’s mother but with slightly darker hair.
Aivery’s step-mother/aunt. Looks like Triishe with her darker, more purple toned hair, but has purple eyes like Aivery.
Aivery has a horned horse. It’s basically a unicorn, but I’m hesitant to call it that because it’s not quite a unicorn (I want to not be stereotypical). Its horn is long and saber like, but that’s the only defining trait I have secured. I was thinking the body could be lighter to appropriately contrast Triishe’s black horse, Octavius, but that’s open for redesign. Go wild.
Relations
Girlfriend/Wife
Aivery and Ichika have a very healthy relationship despite having to overcome the homophobia from Aivery's family and the fact that Ichika's lives underwater. They met and grew close while the rest of the crew was able to leave the ship but Aicery and Ichika were confined to it and have been sweethearts ever since.
Best Friend
Aivery was there to help Hera adjust to the gap in technology and customs when her society was introduced to the rest of the galaxy, and the two bonded over their lov of solitude, survival, and constantly staying ready for combat. They often train or hunt together.
Arhun (Rhun) Nuhra of the Kektarr Line
Younger Brother
Aivery and Rhun aren't especially close, but they've bonded over the death of their mother, dislike for their father and step-mother, and the "death" of their younger sister. Rhun was the only person in her family that Aivery has kept consistent contact with because she always made sure to check in on him regularly while she was at school and out in the field.
Katriishea (Triishe) Aehsiirtak of the Kektarr Line
Younger Half-Sister
Aivery was never very close with Triishe, as she was busy when Triishe was little and Triishe "died" when Aivery finished school. After being reunited, they became closer but still aren't especially close. Triishe doesn't usually come to Aivery with her problems unless she's seeking her cold reason (which is almost never), but she trusts her explicitly
Good Friend
Graey and Aivery spend time together when Graey thinks he feels reality slipping from him because Aivery's such a grounding force. They usually share a dance or two at balls and before Ichika came into the picture, Graey was a hopeless flirt with Aivery, who found it amusing but shared no interest. Graey found good humor in it and continues to flirt with both her and Ichika, and they both think it's hilarious.
